Serve as the team lead to the Universal Mental Health Promoter (UMHP) TAY program in SA 4.  Support in providing COVID-19 and wellness information, empowering TAY to become informed, practice preventive measures and utilize available community resources with the goal of increasing their overall mental health and wellness. Some responsibilities include, but not limited to. Serve as the team lead when conducting outreach and engagement events. Coordinate outreach and engagement efforts with the priority population in SA4. Assist in creating TAY community events that promote wellness and healing. Collect data related to Outcome Measures as directed by LA County Department of Mental Health. Assist with keeping inventory of items purchased for classes. Assist in keeping logs and appropriate documentation related to program supplies. Assist staff in keeping attendance logs and program expenses. Work with specific target populations are directed by Program Manager.  Priority populations for this project is Transitional Age Youth (TAY). Complete weekly logs and trackers needed for completion of monthly report. Effectively link community members to existing resources that mitigate the negative impacts of Covid-19. Promote COVID-19 safety guidelines awareness and compliance. 

Qualifications:  Previous experience as Universal Mental Health Promoter or similar position required. Ability to communicate easily with others, including demonstrating active listening skills. Demonstrate flexibility in addressing changing community needs and program environment. Ability to maintain confidentiality. Ability to navigate the community and advocate for others. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Demonstrates initiative and good judgment in work. Displays empathy, respect, and understanding of community resources, programmatic goals, and understanding of organizational values and processes. Experience in community work, education, health care, or related field preferred. Knowledge and/or part of community served. Read, write, and speak Spanish and English strongly preferred; fluency in spoken Spanish required. Information Technology skills such as: Laptops, Smartphones, Internet/online application systems, Microsoft Office, etc. Able to work a flexible schedule as needed. Able to perform in a positive, flexible, adaptive manner. Must have reliable transportation, valid CA driver’s license and proof of auto insurance and acceptable driving records.

Salary: $27 - $30/hour
